"A Reminder That Humanity Is Under Siege: The Humanitarian Crisis Worsening in the Middle East"

Reflecting on the Israeli military’s ongoing genocide in Gaza have reached new levels of brutality, as evidenced by the recent attack on a tent camp near Al-Aqsa Hospital on the 14th October 2024, We need to do better as human beings.

Whether it’s raising awareness, making dua, carrying out charity work and letting our voices be heard, we must do better. This horrific strike left Palestinians, already displaced from their homes, burned alive as fires engulfed their makeshift shelters. Among the dead were children, innocent civilians seeking refuge in one of the few remaining sanctuaries. The Israeli government continues to claim these strikes target Hamas, but this attack shows the immense cost to human life. Schools, hospitals, and homes are being obliterated, turning Gaza into a graveyard for civilians.

The targeted bombing of tents outside a hospital is a striking violation of humanitarian principles, as medical facilities are meant to be protected under international law. Israel’s cowardly disregard for human life suggests a deliberate campaign that ignores the lives of the Palestinians as well as the Lebanese. Displaced Palestinians, many of them families with children, have been left with nowhere to turn as their last refuges are destroyed. Such attacks deepen the humanitarian crisis, stretching medical facilities already overwhelmed by the casualties of relentless bombings.

This attack is not an isolated incident but part of a genocide that has been happening for 75 years. We have seen schools, civilian centres, and aid distribution points destroyed, as well as children’s corpses being blown to pieces. Do the Zionists ever think that they will meet Allah one day? The lack of international intervention emboldens Israel’s military actions, which disproportionately harm Gaza's civilian population. As the world watches, this assault on Gaza’s people, where the most vulnerable are incinerated in what should be safe zones, raises serious questions about accountability and the global community’s role in ending this atrocity.

The conflict's toll on children and families is catastrophic, yet the strikes continue unabated, leaving countless lives shattered. This genocide, marked by such egregious incidents, has transformed Gaza into a humanitarian disaster zone. Every bomb dropped on civilians diminishes the hope of peace while fuelling outrage and despair across the region. I now ask you, reader. What have you done? Have you tried helping in any sort of way? Have you turned a blind eye to what has been happening? Have you been vocal? Have you been silent? Just remember that we will all have to answer to this.

"We set up the scales of justice for the Day of Judgment, so no soul will be wronged in the least. And ˹even˺ if a deed is the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth" - Surah Al-Anbya 47
